for Lyons Township Clerk

Elyse Hoffenberg is the current Clerk of the Township of Lyons and is the first lawyer to hold the position. She is committed to enhancing community well-being by maximizing resources,
developing sustainability programs, and fostering resiliency.

As a lifelong township resident, a wife, and a mother of three, Elyse knows her community and is committed to ensuring that the township remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. She previously served on the School Board of District 204 and cares deeply about connecting residents to the quality Township services they deserve.

“As the Township of Lyons Clerk, my office seeks to create a vibrant and resilient community where every individual, from youth to seniors, has access to opportunities for growth, support, and empowerment. We envision a future where our programs and initiatives not only meet the immediate needs of today but also lay the foundation for a sustainable and thriving community for generations to come. Through our youth jobs program and community events and programs, we aim to empower individuals of all ages to thrive. We strive to create a sustainable future where every member of our community has the opportunity to grow, contribute, and lead fulfilling lives.”

Since she was first elected four years ago, Clerk Elyse Hoffenberg has modernized her office, enhanced community outreach, and greatly expanded her office's services to serve a record number of residents.

As Clerk, Elyse has

  • Earned $10,000+ in grants for the Township for environmental initiatives
  • Planted pollinator gardens and trees to add green space to communities
  • Run the “Repair Cafe,” helping residents fix their appliances for free
  • Partnered with community groups to address local issues
  • Expanded the summer youth employment incubator program
  • Sponsored over 40 community events/programs for all ages in 2024

If Re-Elected, Clerk Elyse Will

  • Continue to advocate for grants to support our local environments
  • Beautify our communities and improve mental health with green space
  • Support cost-saving sustainability programs like the Repair Cafe
  • Improve communication between the Township and residents
